FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

EYELASH EXTENSIONS

What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic eyelashes that are applied to individual eyelashes, one at a time, to add lengthen and fullness to the existing lashes.

*Eyelash extensions are for professional application only. Self-application and application by untrained individuals is strongly discouraged.

What do they look like and how do they feel?

With proper application, eyelash extensions look and feel completely real. The thickness and length of the eyelash extensions applied is determined by the health and thickness of your natural lashes as well as personal preference.

We offer a wide variety of thicknesses (.03-.15mm), lengths (4mm to 17mm), colors and curls. Every set is custom designed to fit your desired look and needs.

What are the benefits of wearing eyelash extensions?

Besides added length, volume and/or colors, eyelash extensions create the appearance of a brighter, more open eye.

With eyelash extensions you can ditch the mascara and spend less time on your beauty regimen, all with giving the appearance of having put significant effort into your eye makeup.

Look and feel gorgeous from the moment you wake up until the moment you fall asleep with little to no effort, every day!

How long do eyelash extensions last?

The look can be maintained indefinitely with fills and proper aftercare. When properly applied, an eyelash extension will remain in place until it sheds with the natural lash it is attached to.

Natural eyelashes grow and shed in cycles (every 60 to 90 days). When a natural lash matures and sheds, a new lash has already been growing and quickly replaces it without us noticing. This process is constant and at any given moment our many natural lashes are at different stages of maturity. Some are just growing in, while others are ready to shed. People typically shed between 1 and 5 natural lashes each day, depending on their individual growth cycles.

When eyelashes are extended with eyelash extensions, it will be more noticeable when these lashes shed because they are longer and darker than natural lashes.

With proper aftercare and maintenance, fills are typically needed once every 2 to 3 weeks to replace the lashes that have shed. During fills, extensions are applied to the newest mature natural lashes to maintain a full, lush appearance.

How long does the procedure take?

A full set of eyelash extensions generally takes between 1.5-4 hours, while fills can take 1-3 hours.

I have no lashes at all, can I wear eyelash extensions?

Because eyelash extensions are applied to existing natural lashes you must have some natural lashes to wear extensions. Eyelash extensions should not, and in many cases cannot, be applied to clients who have alopecia, are undergoing chemotherapy or those who suffer from Trichotillomania, unless and until the individual has received effective treatment and normal lash growth has resumed.

Can I apply eyelash extensions to my own eyelashes?

No. Only a trained professional will be able to safely apply eyelash extensions. Unprofessional application or self-application may cause eye injury, lash damage or unnatural looking lashes. The procedure involves bonding the synthetic extension to your own natural eyelashes and should be performed only by a professionally trained lash artist.

What are eyelash extensions made out of?

Eyelash extensions are made from a synthetic polyester, which has the least possible chance of allergic reactions with human skin.

The bonding procedure is similar to bonding an orthodontic bracket, which leaves the tooth intact and allows an easy removal. The gold setting is made with a slightly curved back to follow the shape of the tooth. The adhesive is applied by the dental professional to the tooth, the gem set in place and light cured for 60 seconds to harden the composite. The wearer may feel the Twinkles during the first few days of attachment. However, he or she will quickly get used to the presence of the gem. They are small and flat, designed to be barely felt.

How do I remove a tooth gem?

A tooth gem bonded according to our instructions on a natural tooth (will not stick to porcelain caps) will stay on until you decide to have it removed. PERMANENT MAKEUP

What is permanent makeup?

Microblading is a form of a semi-permanent cosmetic makeup performed using a manual (not a machine) handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (microblade), to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant the pigment into the skin. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Combo brows is a combination of two forms of semi-permanent techniques: microblading and powder brows (shading). Microblading hair-strokes are placed with a manual tool around the border of the brow to give the brow a natural look. The powder effect is applied to the body of the brow using a permanent makeup device to give the brow its fullness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ombré brows is a semi-permanent cosmetic makeup technique designed to create eyebrows with soft powder effect, very similar to powder makeup. Powder effect is done with a shading technique using a permanent makeup device, which is similar to a tattoo gun. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eyeliner is a semi-permanent cosmetic makeup solution that will look more like makeup, giving the appearance of liquid liner. Add-on a wing or bottom liner. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lip Blush is non-invasive semi-permanent makeup solution designed to enhances the lips color, shape and symmetry while creating the appearance of fuller lips.

What are the benefits of permanent makeup?

Microblading is an ideal solution for clients who have patchy, thin, or uneven eyebrows and are looking for the most natural looking results. However, not everyone is a candidate for microblading and there are different elements to consider such as skin condition and health. Microblading is most suitable for clients with normal skin and small pores. Oil in the skin can cause the microblading hairstroke to expand and blur so the less oily the client skin is, the better the result will be. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Combo Brows are great for clients with normal to moderately oily skin. So if your skin is too oily for microblading alone, combo brows might be a viable alternative. For someone with very sparse brows, the shading can give the brow more body, while the hair-strokes keep it looking natural. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ombré brows are ideal for clients who draw on their eyebrows everyday, this can be an amazing, beautiful solution. It is also a great alternative for clients that are not good candidates for Microblading or Combo Brows because their skin is too oily as shading is suitable for any skin type! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lip Blush can be a great solution with multiple benefits for almost all skin types. Some benefits include: - Creates fullness without surgery or fillers - Add symmetry to the lips - Defines the shape - Camouflages scars and hyper-pigmentation - Reduce the appearance of fine lines and aging - Restores color to lips that have become pale with age - Color correction - Brighten your natural lip color --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eyeliner helps make your eyelashes look less sparse while looking so natural, no one would even notice it’s a tattoo.

How do I care for my permanent makeup?

Day 1 - Keep clean and dry, do not touch your eyebrows! They may feel tender and appear a little red. Day 1-3 -Brows will start developing a thin layer of scab, continue keeping your brows dry and clean. Day 4 - Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment on each eyebrow with a cotton swab and clean hands, spread a VERY THIN layer of the ointment across the treated area every morning and night. Brows should not appear greasy, glossy or shiny, if so you used too much, as this can suffocate the skin and delay healing. Never apply ointment on wet or damp tattoo. Continue ointment until your brows are no longer scabbing. Day 14+ -Brows are safe from water. Client may return to normal skincare routines. Brows will appear very light, after scabs comes off, every week up to 6 weeks color will continue to surface and brows will get darker again. Day 28-42 - Your brows are healed and you're feeling unstoppable!!! We recommend an annual touchup, after the initial touchup, to maintain the crispness and freshness of the color. Natural fading occurs from external factors such as exposure to the sun as well as internal factors such as the gradual break down of pigments as your body metabolizes it out of your system. Everyone can experience the fading process differently and it really comes down to skin type and lifestyle.
